Caleb Love is headed to the Pac-12.

The former Carolina guard transferred to Arizona on Tuesday afternoon. Love previously committed to Michigan, but backed off of that commitment earlier this month.

Here’s his announcement:

Love was a 5-star prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. He was expected to be a big part of Michigan’s offensive game plan in 2023-24 before deciding to play elsewhere.

He started 96 games for UNC and helped the Tar Heels reach the National Championship Game in 2022. Love is perhaps best known for hitting a game-sealing 3-pointer against Duke in the Final Four.

Last season, Love was inefficient as the Tar Heels struggled to generate good offense. He scored 16.7 points per game on 15.1 attempts. He shot just 37.8% from the field and entered the transfer portal after UNC missed the NCAA Tournament.

Michigan is still in the midst of building its roster for next season following the departures of Jett Howard, Hunter Dickinson and Kobe Bufkin. The Wolverines have added 2 transfers so far this offseason but could add more in the coming weeks.
