Caleb Love, a former North Carolina guard who was a coveted transfer in college basketball, has announced his destination.

Love, who is originally from St. Louis, entered the portal earlier this offseason after a disappointing junior campaign with the Tar Heels. He reportedly considered Missouri, but decided on Michigan in an announcement he made on social media. “Go rewrite your story kid,” he wrote.

Love played 3 seasons with the Tar Heels and in the 2021-22 season led the Tar Heels all the way to the National Championship Game. His postseason included a clutch 3-pointer to defeat Duke in the Final Four.

But this season saw a drop off as Love shot under 40% from the floor and under 30% from 3-point range. Carolina failed to make the NCAA Tournament despite being the preseason No. 1 team in the AP Poll.

Love averaged a career-high 16.7 points this past season, and shot 37.8% from the field while contributing 3.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
