Chase Winovich turned down bet that involved $1K, cutting his hair
Michigan defensive lineman Chase Winovich recently had an opportunity to win $1,000. But that same opportunity could’ve potentially cost him his long, golden locks.
That opportunity was a potential bet with an online Fortnite player regarding last weekend’s fight between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov in Las Vegas. Winovich, a huge fan of McGregor, would’ve netted $1,000 if he won. However, if Nurmagomedov won the fight, the Michigan defensive lineman would’ve had to cut his hair.
Winovich wasn’t willing bite.
“I was playing online with this guy named Nick Mercs. He’s a Famous Twitch streamer from Fortnite,” Winovich said on the Jamie and Stoney Show on 97.1 The Ticket. “He offered me — if Conor McGregor wins, I’ll give you $1,000. But if he loses, you’ve got to cut your hair.
It’s a good thing Winovich didn’t take the bet. McGregor lost the fight and the defensive lineman’s famous locks would’ve been gone.
“I was very confident in Conor winning, but I said there’s now way I would cut my hair for $1,000,” Winovich said. “It’s just too a part of me. I couldn’t do it.”
Smart move by Winovich. He would’ve been almost unrecognizable without that long hair.
