New Michigan offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey has been extremely impressed with freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood so far.

Underwood, who recently enrolled at Michigan after signing with the program as a 5-star recruit in the class of 2025, has seemingly made a big impression in a short amount of time.

Lindsey went on the ‘In The Trenches’ podcast with Michigan’s Jon Jansen this week and had glowing things to say about Underwood and the Wolverines’ QB room in general.

“Bryce, getting to know him has been unbelievable,” Lindsey told Jansen. “The guy is as humble and driven as I’ve seen. People from the outside may not see that or know that, because of the hype that goes with it.”

As for the rest of the QB room, Jansen had glowing things to say about redshirt freshman Jadyn Davis and veteran Davis Warren.

“But Jadyn Davis was a 5-star recruit, as well. I think the people from outside don’t see them every day in the film room, grinding on their own, in meetings, taking notes,” Lindsey said. “They approach their craft very seriously, and they want to be really good and be the best they can be.

“And that’s what you want. You want a room full of guys that are eager. Davis Warren is the same way. He’s coming off an injury, but he’s the same way. Those guys want to be perfect, and I think that’s what’s exciting.”

Michigan will be hopeful to get much better production out of the quarterback position in 2025. Last season, the Wolverines ranked 127th out of 134 teams in passer efficiency rating.
