College World Series: Michigan to play Florida State on Monday

Michigan has taken early advantage of its trip to the College World Series, defeating Texas Tech in the opener in Omaha. Now, the Wolverines look to go 2-0 on Monday.

The Wolverines defeated the Red Raiders 5-3 on Saturday afternoon in the College World Series opener, leading from the top of the 1st inning all the way through the bottom of the 9th. And with the result of Game 2 in, Michigan now knows its opponent for the second game.

Florida State.

Following the Michigan-Texas Tech contest, Florida State notched a 1-0 win over Arkansas to earn the right to play the Wolverines on Monday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be aired on ESPN.

The Seminoles are 42-21 on the season under 40th year head coach Mike Martin. This marks the program’s second College World Series appearance in the last three seasons. The Wolverines are playing in their first College World Series since 1984 and are 47-20 on the year.
