Michigan continues to add talent to its 2022 recruiting class. This time, Jim Harbaugh’s staff reached into SEC country to land a cornerback out of Brentwood, Tennessee.

Myles Pollard, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound defensive back, gave his verbal pledge to Michigan this week. The 3-star prospect had a plethora of offers, picking the Wolverines over other blueblood programs like Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, Florida, Oregon and Penn State.

Pollard made his announcement with a post on Twitter.

A high 3-star prospect, 40 programs showed interest in Pollard. He’s ranked as the No. 39 cornerback in the class and cracks the Top 500 nationally, coming in at No. 430, per 247Sports Composite.

In Tennessee, Pollard ranks as the No. 16 overall prospect in the 2022 class.

From 247Sports recruiting analyst Clint Brewster:

Long levered cornerback with legit height and wingspan. Uses his length to his advantage and plays with an aggressive demeanor and physical style. Able to play bump and run coverage to the field. Twitchy feet and tight moving change of direction. Quick trigger on the ball with awareness and route intelligence. Works hard to stay in-phase with good catchup speed. Very competitive in jump ball situations. Raised his level of play against good competition. Has the desire to make big plays as a run stopper.

With Pollard’s pledge, Michigan is now up to 15 verbal commits in the 2022 recruiting class. The Wolverines have a Top 10 class nationally and sit at No. 3 in the B1G, behind Ohio State and Penn State.
