So how’s this for a Thursday morning wakeup? Former Ohio State receiver Cris Carter probably didn’t buy himself any drinks in Columbus with this comment on ESPN’s Mike and Mike:

“Michigan will be a powerhouse in college football with Jim Harbaugh.”

But does he have a point? Harbaugh did turn San Diego into an 11-win team in two years and he took a 4-8 Stanford squad and turned them into a 12-1 national championship contender in his fourth year.

It remains to be seen how quickly Harbaugh will rebuild a 5-7 Michigan team. But he certainly has plenty believing he’s up for the task.
