Davis Warren gave the Michigan faithful the bad news on Saturday while trying his best to put a positive spin on things for the 2025 season.

The quarterback’s roller-coaster of a 2024 season came to a crashing halt on New Year’s Eve when he was forced to leave the Wolverines’ ReliaQuest Bowl victory over Alabama at rain-soaked Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. Turns out the injury he limped off the field with early in the 3rd quarter after a sack was a torn ACL in his right knee that will make a return to the field next fall that much harder.

No matter. Warren, who was seen on the field after the 19-13 win on crutches with his right leg in a full brace, went to social media to basically tell Michigan fans not to feel sorry for him as the hard road back begins.

Warren tweeted a picture of himself on Saturday night shirtless, wearing shorts with sunglasses on, and flashing 2 thumbs up while telling his fans:

“Celebrating a win and so proud of the way the boys finished this season! I unfortunately suffered a torn ACL in the bowl game. Thanks to the Michigan faithful for all the support this season. Can’t wait to battle to be back on the field with my guys in (Ann Arbor) and go blue!”

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Warren at Michigan, especially with freshman quarterback phenom Bryce Underwood arriving in Ann Arbor in 2025.
