Desmond Howard and the rest of the College GameDay crew were in Columbus in Week 13 for a top-5 matchup between Indiana and Ohio State.

One of the staples of GameDay is local caterers providing food for the crew. Usually, the food is related to the host school or city. For Week 13, Columbus-based caterers brought gourmet food to the hosts, including a cake shaped like the Horseshoe.

Howard, in a hilarious act of pettiness, refused to touch the catering and instead pulled out a sack lunch. The Michigan legend proceeded to eat his prepared sandwich, not even thinking about eating the food prepared by Buckeye fans.

While the rest of the crew dug into the food, Howard was seen ignoring the presentment.

“Desmond, what are you doing?” asked Jess Sims. “Is that a PB&J when there’s steak?”

This just shows the level of disdain Michigan and Ohio State fans have for one another. Howard played for Michigan from 1988-91 and won the Heisman Trophy in 1991. The legend’s No. 21 jersey is retired at Michigan and Howard never lost to Ohio State as a player.

The heated rivals will play in 2024’s version of The Game in Week 14 to wrap up the regular season. Before preparing for Michigan, however, the Buckeyes have to get past Indiana. At the end of the 3rd quarter, the Buckeyes were enjoying a 28-7 lead over the Hoosiers.

The Buckeyes are looking to remain a 1-loss team as they head into The Game.
