Desmond Howard gushes about national title because 'they had to deal with so much BS'
Desmond Howard basked in Michigan’s national championship win on Monday night.
Howard, in an interview with Sirius XM, was especially thankful for how Michigan’s season ended. The Michigan Heisman Trophy winner said it was much more special with how much the team had to go through this year. Howard stressed how nothing can be held against Michigan now.
“Man, it feels so good because they had to deal with so much BS during the season. But, you know, I told them when this whole Connor Stalions thing came out, I told them on GameDay,” said Howard. “I said ‘Listen, you know what? The beautiful thing about this is that there’s no more excuses for nobody. At that point you still had to play Purdue. They had to play Penn State, Maryland, and Ohio State. Then they took of Iowa and Alabama. And damn it, what did they do to Washington. No more excuses, right?”

The last time that Michigan and Washington played each in a game like this was the 1992 Rose Bowl, which Howard played in. After he won the Heisman, Howard and the Wolverines were stifled by the Washington defense and lost 34-14. Ironically, the Michigan defense stifled Washington this time around.
It’s safe to say that Howard will be celebrating this win for a while.
