Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit tout Georgia's physicality vs. Michigan in Orange Bowl
Georgia didn’t have much of a problem with Michigan in the Orange Bowl. From the opening kickoff until the final whistle, the Bulldogs flexed their muscles against the Wolverines.
Georgia cruised to a 34-11 victory in Miami on Friday night, punching its ticket to the National Championship Game and setting up an SEC Championship Game rematch with Alabama.
On Saturday morning’s edition of College GameDay, both Desmond Howard and Kirk Herbstreit talked about Georgia’s physicality and toughness in the win. Essentially, the two analysts said it was an unfair fight at Hard Rock Stadium.
“They were better physically. The field was slanted the whole game,” Herbstreit said during the pregame show. “There wasn’t much Michigan could do.”
“They were so much bigger and athletic than Michigan,” Howard added.
Michigan closed out the season with a 12-2 record and a B1G title. It was the best season the Wolverines have enjoyed since Jim Harbaugh took over in Ann Arbor.
It still wasn’t enough to compete with Georgia.
