Desmond Howard shares his ideal CFP national championship matchup
Desmond Howard went on ESPN’s ‘First Take’ on Friday to talk about the upcoming College Football Playoff matchups. Michigan takes on TCU in the Fiesta Bowl, while Ohio State plays Georgia in the Peach Bowl.
Howard picked his alma mater as the matchup he’d like to see the most and is hoping to see Michigan take on Georgia in the national championship game. Michigan will have to make it past the surging Horned Frogs first, however.
“I think the best matchup would be No. 1 vs. No. 2, Georgia versus Michigan. I think people will want to see that again. Especially since these two met a little over a year ago in the semifinal game in the Orange Bowl. Georgia just rode Michigan. Now, you have these two teams on a collision course again.”

In order to face Michigan in the title game, the Bulldogs would have to beat Ohio State first. Kickoff from the Fiesta Bowl will be Saturday at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN.
