Detroit Lions DC Aaron Glenn ecstatic to land Aidan Hutchinson: 'He is a Detroit Lion'
Aidan Hutchinson was not the top pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he did not slide fall. After landing with the Detroit Lions at No. 2, Hutchinson will get to stay in-state and help the Lions after wrapping up his career in Ann Arbor.
Shortly after the pick was announced, Detroit DC Aaron Glenn met with the media to discuss the pick. Glenn admitted he was “pleading” with head coach Dan Campbell to take Hutchinson in the draft.
Glenn also called Hutchinson relentless and a Detroit Lion “through and through.” He also called concerns about arm length and overall athleticism overblown.
Here’s a glimpse at what Glenn had to say about Hutchinson:
Aaron Glenn admits he’s been blowing up Dan Campbell’s phone pleading to get Hutchinson. Glenn said he saw a lot of versatility from Hutchinson’s freshman tape, particularly the ability to slide inside.

Aaron Glenn: “The one thing we thought about Aidan is he’s relentless. He plays the run really well. And he is a Detroit Lion, through and through. That’s why I say we deserve this player and the player deserves us also. It’s a true fit.”

Aaron Glenn says Aidan Hutchinson can play on the outside, but slip inside to the 3-tech on passing downs.
