Before the NFL Combine kicked off last week, Michigan linebacker Devin Bush was expected to be a first-round selection. The B1G Defensive Player and Linebacker of the Year was regarded as one of the top talents available.

Over the last few days, Bush has had the opportunity to prove that he’s one of the better prospects in the NFL Draft and deserving of the hype. For some, that might create a lot of pressure.

Not for Bush. Instead, the Michigan linebacker used the combine as a chance to have a little fun and show off his talent to scouts across the league.

“Just have fun, don’t add extra pressure. This is what you do, this is football,” Bush told reporters at the NFL Combine. “There’s no added pressure, no place to overthink something.”

More than what he showcased at the NFL Combine, Bush believes that his productivity and effort in the maize and blue uniform is what scouts should notice most.

“What you see on tape is real. It’s what you’re going to get 100 percent of the time,” Bush said. “It’s no fluke. I’m a tough player, I play hard and my film speaks for itself. That’s my game, I’m a twitchy linebacker. I can cover, I can blitz, I can play the run. I can do it all.”

Bush did it all during his time at Michigan. He registered 193 tackles, including 19 for loss and 14 pass break-ups in three seasons in Ann Arbor. Now he’s hoping to parlay that into a successful NFL career.

But it doesn’t sound like Bush feels the pressure at all. He’s just enjoying the opportunity and making the most out of his time in Indianapolis.
