Devin Funchess joined the Detroit Lions in June, and is already making plays in preseason. The Michigan product made a catch on Friday that showed flashes of how he was in college.

Funchess was lined up on the outside as the Lions moved closer and closer to the end zone. The Atlanta Falcons decided to use man coverage against him, and paid for it with a touchdown. Funchess used his body to bring the ball in on a fade route thrown by Lions QB Tim Boyle to make a great catch.

Other than the Lions, Funchess has spent time with the Carolina Panthers (2015-2018), Indianapolis Colts (2019), Green Bay Packers (2020), and San Francisco 49ers (2021). If he keeps making plays like this, he should find a spot on the Lions roster.
