Top player in Massachusetts commits to Michigan over Florida State, Wisconsin
Michigan’s recruiting ties on the East Coast helped build the foundation for the 2016 class.
It’s early, but that narrative is playing out again with the 2017 class.
On Monday, the Wolverines got a commitment from A.J. Dillon, who is the top 2017 player in Massachusetts:

Dillion is rated a four-star running back and linebacker in the 247sports composite rankings. He’s rated the 19th-best running back in the 2017 class and No. 248 overall. He already has over 3,000 career rushing yards and 47 touchdowns on the ground.
The 6-1, 230-pound recruit was also considering Florida State, Notre Dame and Wisconsin. He took unofficial visits to Michigan, Notre Dame and Wisconsin last week, but went with the Wolverines.
The news came a week after Michigan got a commitment from four-star linebacker Josh Ross.
It remains to be seen if he projects more as a linebacker or a running back at the next level. At 230 pounds, Dillon certainly isn’t lacking the size to play either position:
