DJ Turner turned in the fastest time at this year’s NFL Combine (so far) with the defensive backs. Friday’s time also stands out as one of the fastest in the history of the event.

At the time of his run, Turner was clocked at an unofficial mark of 4.27 seconds in the 40-yard dash. Eventually, the time was switched to an even faster official mark of 4.26 seconds.

That ties Turner for the 4th-fastest time at the NFL Combine since 2003, tying 3 other players that included star 2022 rookie Tariq Woolen. The 3 faster times at the combine come from John Ross (4.22), Kalon Barnes (4.23) and Chris Johnson (4.24).

That type of speed from Turner will likely have a great impact on his outlook for the 2023 NFL Draft. While Woolen fell to the 5th round out of UTSA, 2 of the 3 faster players on the list above were first-round picks.
