Donovan Edwards and Michigan found the scoreboard first in their College Football Playoff National Championship Game tilt vs. Washington.

With just shy of 5 minutes played in the 1st quarter in Houston, Edwards was able to bounce his way out of trouble and take the ball down the left side of the field for the score and his 4th touchdown of the season.

Edwards’ touchdown capped an 8-play, 84-yard drive for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines needed overtime to defeat Alabama in the Rose Bowl to punch their ticket to the CFP national championship with Edwards being held to just 11 yards on 4 carries in that one. Monday’s TD marked his first since Nov. 11 against Penn State.

Michigan and Washington is on ESPN, with Megacast coverage across its family of networks. The Wolverines are seeking their first national championship since 1997 while the Huskies are looking for their fist crown since 1991.
