Donovan Edwards reacts to Michigan's Playoff loss, honoring Meechie Walker during Fiesta Bowl
Donovan Edwards took to Twitter to share his thoughts after a devastating Fiesta Bowl loss to TCU.
“It is God’s plan. We will be back,” said Edwards. ” We scored 45 points for Meechie.”
Edwards was referring to Dametrius “Meechie” Walker, a Michigan fan and standout for Muskegon High School who unfortunately passed away after a battle with bone cancer this season.
It is not always in our favor about what we want …….it is God’s plan . We will be back . We scored 45 points for Meechie. ☝️❤️ #onelove

Edwards acknowledged that even though the Wolverines lost, they played well for Meechie. Meechie was in attendance at The Big House for the B1G opener, where he received a standing ovation from the Michigan faithful.
In the Fiesta Bowl loss, Edwards still had an impressive performance. Edwards finished with 23 carries for 119 yards. Edwards also contributed 1 catch for 8 yards. Ultimately, the performance was not enough to lead the Wolverines to victory, as the Horned Frogs end up with the win, 51-45.
