Erick All is heading into his senior season with Michigan. All was a baby back in 2001, and almost didn’t make it to see his birthday the following year.

He told the story of how he almost lost life in a house fire on BTN’s Journey series. His father  started off the video by saying how lucky his son is. Erick has little to no memory of the event, other than what his parents have told him about it. A fire broke out, and the firefighters on the scene had to break the window of the room where All was sleeping in to get to him.

“What my dad tells my every time he tells the story, is that when they broke the window open, the smoke just came pouring out the window,” said All.

All owes his life to firefighter Tom Broyles and EMT Shawn Phenis. Broyles saved him from the burning room, but All wasn’t breathing.

“They come out with me and I was just limp,” said All. “That’s when my dad said the he just lost it.”

Luckily for All, Broyles quickly revived him, and saved his life that day. Now he is living out his dream of playing college football, and is thankful for each day that he gets to live on this earth.
