ESPN's FPI predicts Michigan's remaining schedule coming out of bye week
Michigan rolled into the bye week with a perfect 6-0 record, and now it’s time for the Wolverines to gear up for the stretch run of the season.
Prior to the bye, Michigan rolled into Lincoln and snuck away with a 3-point win in a hard-fought road victory. That kept the perfect season alive and keeps the Wolverines tied atop the suddenly deep B1G East division.
Jim Harbaugh’s squad will get a visit from Northwestern in Week 8. After that, Michigan will have 3 of 5 games against B1G East teams currently ranked in the top 10. Two of those games will also come on the road.
Regardless of how Michigan started the year, the upcoming stretch will determine how far this team can go, both in the B1G and in terms of the College Football Playoff. According to ESPN’s FPI, the Wolverines have a solid shot in every remaining game but plenty of potential close calls.
Here’s what the FPI sees:
- Oct. 23: vs. Northwestern – 95.1%
- Oct. 30: at No. 9 Michigan State – 53.7%
- Nov. 6: vs. Indiana – 89.0%
- Nov. 13: at No. 7 Penn State – 50.5%
- Nov. 20: at Maryland – 87.8%
- Nov. 27: vs. No. 5 Ohio State – 41.8%
