ESPN's FPI predicts Michigan's Week 3 game vs. Bowling Green
ESPN’s FPI is predicting the outcome of Michigan’s Week 3 matchup against Bowling Green. It will also be the program’s final game without head coach Jim Harbaugh as he completes his 3-game suspension.
Leading the way, offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Sherrone Moore will get his turn as the interim head coach. Moore served a 1-game suspension in the season opener but has been viewed as an up-and-coming candidate to become a head coach.
Bowling Green is 1-1 so far this season, and the Falcons from the MAC will be heavy underdogs in the Big House. According to the Football Power Index, Michigan has a 98.2% of getting the win and moving to 3-0 this season. As for expectatoins in the game, the matchup provides Michigan with a chance to get its offense rolling, particularly in the ground game. The Wolverines are averaging 150.5 rushing yards per game during the 2-0 start and will look to heat things up against a Falcon defense allowing 160.5 rushing yards per game.
On the other side of the equation, JJ McCarthy will look to continue his electric start to the season. The quarterback is completing 87.3% of passes across a 2-0 start with 558 yards and 5 touchdowns.
