ESPN’s FPI predicts the outcome of Michigan-Washington B1G tilt
It is a rematch from last year’s national championship as the Michigan Wolverines travel to take on the Washington Huskies, this time as B1G opponents.
Neither of these teams are nearly as good as they were last season, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Despite the Wolverines being the ranked team, it is the Huskies that ESPN thinks will win the game. The FPI is giving the Huskies a 57.9% chance to win this game. That means ESPN thinks it will be a competitive game with the Wolverines having a 42.1% chance win.
The B1G foes will face off on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. ET at Husky Stadium on NBC.
The Wolverines have continued to win since losing at home to Texas, but it hasn’t been pretty. For the second consecutive week, the Wolverines won by a score of 27-24.
This past week, it was against Minnesota. The Wolverines were up 24-3 entering the fourth quarter, but the Gophers almost made the comeback. If it wasn’t for a very controversial offside called on an onside kick, it could be a different story in Ann Arbor.
Like Michigan, Washington lost a ton of offensive talent from last season’s team. The Huskies are coming off a tough loss on the road at Rutgers. Washington was able to score late to cut it to 21-18 but missed a field goal as time expired to take the loss. Washington is currently 3-2 while Michigan is 4-1.
