Michigan will look to improve to 2-0 on the season when they host Washington on Sept. 11. Michigan is coming off a 47-14 victory vs. Western Michigan in the season opener.

Washington fell to the Big Sky Conference’s Montana 13-7 in its season opener.

During the Week 2 edition of ESPN’s College GameDay, analyst Kirk Herbstreit offered his thoughts on the upcoming matchup. Herbstreit came away impressed with Michigan’s running game, anchored by Blake Corum.

Corum rushed for 111 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

“Everyone’s talking about Washington like, ‘Ahh, they’re terrible. They lost to Montana. They were minus three in turnover margin,” Herbstreit said. “Let me tell you something, their defense played well.How about Michigan? They are running the football. Blake Corum is for real.”

Michigan leads the all-time series 7-5 vs. Washington. In the last meeting, which dates back t0 2002, Michigan edged visiting Washington 31-29. Michigan and Washington have met four times in the Rose Bowl with the teams splitting the contests.
