Billy Connelly’s SP+ is predicting a lopsided Michigan win in Jim Harbaugh’s return to the sidelines on Saturday. Harbaugh returns from a self-imposed three-game suspension in Week 4.

No. 2 Michigan and Rutgers are set to face off on the football field. Ann Arbor will definitely be rocking with Harbaugh back. Now that non-conference play is over, it’ll only be B1G games from here and out. While Michigan fans will be excited, the game may not be, according to Connelly.

Connelly is predicting that Michigan will beat Rutgers 37-9 on Saturday. He gives the Wolverines a 95% chance to win at “The Big House.” The Scarlet Knights only have a 5% chance of ruining Harbaugh’s return.

It’s not surprising that Connelly is favoring Michigan in the matchup. While Rutgers is also undefeated, the Scarlet Knights haven’t beaten Michigan since their first season in the B1G in 2014.

Rutgers might not be the best competition to gauge this Michigan team, but it is the first conference test for Harbaugh and company.

It’s a tale of two offenses in this matchup. Michigan ranks fifth (402) in the conference at total yards per game, while Rutgers ranks 10th (346.3).

Both teams are inside the top five in the B1G when it comes to defensive yards allowed, however. Michigan leads the B1G in that stat and Rutgers is fourth.

Michigan still remains the betting favorite to win the conference in regard to the Big Ten Championship odds with Ohio State and Penn State trailing the Wolverines. Fans hoping to get in on that action can use our Michigan sports betting promo code.

Kickoff will be at Noon ET on BTN.
