Two weeks after putting his name in the NCAA transfer portal, former Michigan guard Cole Bajema has announced his next destination.

Chris Fetters of 247Sports reported this weekend that Bajema has committed to continue his basketball career at Washington. It will be a transfer closer to home for the guard, who is a native of Lynden, Washington. Bajema decided to leave Michigan after one season.

Bajema committed to Michigan when former head coach John Beilein was still in charge. However, following the 2018-19 season, Beilein opted to take the job with the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, leaving UM after over a decade with the program.

Bajema appeared in 10 games at Michigan last season, averaging 2.6 points per contest. The 6-foot-7 guard was the third Wolverine to enter his name in the NCAA transfer portal, joining David DeJulius and Colin Castleton.

All three players have found new homes.

Per his 247Sports’ recruiting page, Bajema was a four-star member of the 2019 recruiting class and was ranked as the No. 112 overall prospect of the cycle
