John Beilein was one of the greatest basketball coaches in University of Michigan history during his 278-150 run from 2007 through the 2019 season when he left to take his shot at the National Basketball Association, and now he is returning to the Big Ten Network as a game analyst beginning today.

Bielein is set to call the Penn State Nittany Lions at Purdue Boilermakers game that tips off at 1 pm ET from Mackey Arena. The network dropped a tweet in an anticipation of the event to remind viewers how candid Beilein often was with his commentary about the game.

The coach was exceptional during his Ann Arbor days, leading Michigan to two regular season conference championships and back-to-back tournament titles in 2017 and 2018. Beilein was exceptional during March Madness as well, guiding both the 2013 and 2018 Wolverines to the Final Four and championship game appearances.

Big Ten basketball fans likely are going to be glad to hear him on the television microphones analyzing games as opposed to commanding the sideline with a team that was going to be tough to beat under the best circumstances.
