Ex-Michigan LBs coach, now at Tennessee, compares the two stadium experiences
Michigan is known for its stadium and how large it is aptly named the Big House. The stadium capacity for the Big House is 107,601.
A former LB coach now coaching at Tennessee believes that Tennessee has better fans than the Wolverines. Neyland Stadium is another massive stadium that is one of the most well-known stadiums in the country. The capacity is 102,455.
LB coach Brian Jean-Mary is the LB coach for the Volunteers, and he was the LB coach for the Wolverines a season ago.
Jean Mary had this to say when comparing the two crowds.
“I will say the No. 1 difference — and I am not just saying because I am standing in front of you — is the fans,” Jean-Mary said according to Mike Wilson of the Knoxville News Sentinel. “I think the University of Michigan crowd, which is a good crowd — I am not going to say it is a bad crowd, it is more of a tennis crowd. We have more of a gladiator stadium crowd at the University of Tennessee.”

Jean-Mary was the LB coach for Michigan in 2020, where the B1G did not allow fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
