Fail to the Victors: Michigan fight song stumps all three Jeopardy! contestants
For those of us who love college athletics, the University of Michigan has one of the most recognizable and popular fight songs out there. It only takes a few moments for fans to identify the school’s song.
Unless, of course, you’re a contestant on Jeopardy!. Apparently, Michigan’s fight song was a little too tricky for three contestants on Friday evening.
One of the categories during Friday night’s Jeopardy! round was “Have you heard,” in which a written clue was provided and a soundbite was played to give contestants an opportunity to guess the answer. As if the sound of Michigan’s fight song wasn’t enough, here was the clue:
“Hail! To the conqu’ring heroes!” The fight song here fires up this Big Ten school
Not a single contestant even ventured a guess at the clue. It was pretty remarkable.
Below is the clip from Jeopardy, as shared by Jim Weber on Twitter:
It will never cease to amaze me how bad Jeopardy contestants are at sports clues.
