Fans, media credit Michigan crowd for incredible showing in national title game
Fans and media are both crediting one specific thing for Michigan’s impressive start to the CFP National Championship Game. Many have noticed that the crowd in Houston is overwhelmingly in Michigan’s favor.
Notably, the Wolverines’ fans forced Washington to call 2 timeouts on their first drive. It eventually led to a field goal in the red zone instead of a touchdown for the Huskies.
Overall, the setting in Houston’s NRG Stadium feels like a Saturday back in the Big House in Ann Arbor. It’s certainly having an early impact in the game, and it’s likely the crowd will come into play at a crucial moment later in the game.
For now, UM fans are loving the showing of the fan base as the Wolverines push for their first national title since 1997:
Hail to the Victors is worth 2 TD’s in championship environment. This crowd is 90/10 Michigan. Wash band just got booed off the field. Legit home game

The crowd is just ludicrously in favor of Michigan, and the momentum Michigan has right now seems crushing. If they put up a 21-3 scoreline then it is OVER (arguably, the game already seems like it’s out of hand).

Heavy storms about to roll through Houston. Good thing there’s a (mostly) sturdy roof on NRG Stadium. Kickoff 45 minutes away and I’d say the crowd is about 75% Michigan, 25% Washington.
