Fans, media react to latest reported details of Michigan's sign-stealing investigation
The NCAA investigation into allegations of sign stealing and in-person scouting from Jim Harbaugh’s program took another wild turn on Monday.
According to an extensive report from ESPN, suspended Wolverine staffer Connor Stalions purchased over 30 tickets over the course of 3 seasons to games at 11 different B1G programs. Those tickets were allegedly distributed to at least 3 different individuals in different regions of the country.
It is also alleged that Stalions purchased tickets to the Week 8 game between Ohio State and Penn State with 1 ticket on either side of the stadium (across from each bench). Per ESPN’s report, those tickets went unused Saturday after Stalions was named publicly in a Friday story.
Needless to say, fans and media across college football had a stark reaction to the latest details involving Harbaugh’s program. It will be interesting to see what becomes of all these allegations with the NCAA expected to receive video evidence of the alleged violations this week.
In the meantime, here’s a glimpse of how social media addressed the latest story:
Imagine if he’d put them on StubHub. Two unknowing people suddenly get a call from the NCAA. https://t.co/OMaUAikKK0

Wow, yeah Harbaugh may be leaving “voluntarily” for the NFL this off-season

Can we focus on who’s actually perpetrating this at the top? Stalions is a lower level staffer, he’s not just doing this on his own dime. Let’s find out who is actually giving him the orders

This implies there are two Big Ten programs Michigan didn’t respect enough to steal from and now I must know who they are https://t.co/d1qWv2aV4t

I am normally all about telling the NCAA to pound sand, but this has been explicitly prohibited for three decades. If you’re going to be this stupid, you deserve whatever punishment the NCAA hands out. https://t.co/O4HECJ6Ig6

Oh we really need to question those B1G academics if this is the kind of scheme that lasted 30 games. https://t.co/DHaU6SSVLx pic.twitter.com/8duaTW9PSs

It’s hilarious that Michigan had to illegally recruit and steal signs from 11 B1G teams to finally beat OSU and win the conference. Then as soon as they couldn’t steal signs they lost to TCU..
They literally were planning to have two ppl at Ohio Stadium this Saturday 🤧🤧 https://t.co/rCKi13phBm

When I, a former Marine captain, am conducting my years long, multi-pronged, illegal sign-stealing operation I always make sure to use my own credit card so I can properly document my crimes and get reimbursed for gas mileage and whatnot. https://t.co/cRYbk2rBBZ pic.twitter.com/kTaBpO6A5w

My main question is why are you cheating against Michigan state, Rutgers, Indiana, etc when you’re a decent football team?
Just whip their tail.
Don’t cheat to do it. https://t.co/1FV902hzBC— david (@davidhuey) October 23, 2023
Like, how are you this bad at cheating? What an embarrassment to the rivalry. https://t.co/BvfgMu45wG

Love how this ❌ichigan scandal perfectly coincides w the their most consistent & accomplished period of success in the Harbaugh yrs – right after he was officially put on the hot seat too! What a coincidence! 🫢🙄😏😂 https://t.co/hCbzryy5u5

A *massive* next question: was Stalions “going rogue” and purchasing tickets on his own? Or was this directive from Michigan coaches?
It also may not matter. Pretty damning stuff.
Best case: Rogue wolf. Wrist slap. Fines. Suspension.
Worst case: End of the Harbaugh era. https://t.co/LwZfTW8fgM— Josh Evans (@itsjoshevans) October 23, 2023
This only ends with Harbaugh leaving this year. https://t.co/Y8PgAhXz5A

I think what we all need to know here is: is Connor Stalions a Michigan Man? https://t.co/3TjGz2aotK
