A trip to the Super Regionals is on the line Monday in a winner-take-all showdown between Michigan and regional host Louisville.

Entering Sunday, the Wolverines had a shot to advance with a win. Unfortunately, the Cardinals rolled early and often on their way to a 20-1 victory to set up one more showdown on Monday.

“Not much to break down here, just a good old-fashioned butt-kicking,” head coach Erik Bakich said after Sunday’s lopsided loss. “We knew just the way our pitching had lined up – you kind of live by the sword, die by the sword when you use all your weekend starters in the game early.

“We were hoping for some outlier performances and knew it would probably have to be a high-scoring day, but wasn’t our day offensively.”

Now, the Wolverines will reload and give it their all on Monday. Originally, first pitch on Monday was set for 6 pm ET. But with inclement weather forecasted for Louisville, the start time has been moved up to 12 pm ET. The game can be viewed via ESPN+ and in the ESPN App.
