Michigan just picked up another commitment for 2022, this time from a player with unique ties to the program.

The commitment comes from Micah Pollard, a three-star linebacker out of Jacksonville, Florida. Pollard made his decision for the Wolverines over offers from Indiana and Auburn, among others.

“I am so humbled and thankful for this journey,” wrote Pollard on Twitter. “I’d like to thank the whole coaching staff at Michigan for giving me this opportunity to continue playing this sport and believing in me. With that being said I’m excited to announce that I will be furthering my academic and athletic career at the University of Michigan.”

The 247 Sports Composite Rankings lists Pollard as the No. 56 linebacker nationally for the cycle. According to Ryan Zuke with MLive.com, Pollard is the nephew of former Wolverine great Braylon Edwards. He is also the son of former NFL tight end Marcus Pollard.

Pollard joins Michigan’s recruiting class that is currently ranked 10th nationally for 2022. Three-star linebacker Kevonte Henry out of California is the only other linebacker committed to Michigan for the cycle.
