Former 5-star defensive tackle Aubrey Solomon has found a new home in the SEC.

On Friday, Solomon, who recently made the decision to transfer out of Michigan, made the announcement that he’ll be continuing his athletic and academic career at Tennessee. Solomon is a native of Leesburg, Ga., and is returning to SEC country.

As a high school prospect, Solomon was tabbed as the No. 23 player in the 2017 recruiting class and was the second-best defensive tackle. He made his decision public via Twitter.

“Thank you Michigan professors for opening my mind, fans for being the foundation for the players & encouraging us good or bad, teammates for uplifting each other through adversity while still smiling,” Solomon said. “With that being said, I will be attending the University of Tennessee.”

Solomon played in 18 career games for the Wolverines, making 24 tackles. He played in all 13 games as a true freshman in 2017, but battled injuries through his sophomore campaign. He appeared in just five games this fall.

With stars like Chase Winovich and Rashan Gary departing at the end of the season, Solomon appeared to have a clear path to becoming an integral part of Michigan’s defense in 2019. At the end of the season, he decided to leave Ann Arbor and pursue other opportunities.

Michigan will take on Florida in the Peach Bowl on Dec. 29.
