Former Michigan defensive lineman Chase Winovich has his suspicions for why he might have been traded from the New England Patriots.

The fourth year player joked that his dramatic haircut led to him being traded. Winovich had become well known by his long, blonde hair, but now keeps it short.

“I cut it off and then three days later they traded me,” Winovich said. “I guess Bill (Belichick) didn’t like the haircut.”

Winovich played at Michigan from 2015 to 2018 before being drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Patriots. During his time with Michigan, he recorded 166 total tackles and 18.5 sacks.

Winovich put together two solid season in his first two years in the NFL, recording 26 tackles and 5.5 sacks his rookie year and 49 tackles and 5.5 sacks his second year, but has since digressed. He has recorded just one tackle this season.
