Former Michigan hoops star Duncan Robinson sets new franchise record for Miami Heat
A lot of outstanding NBA players have spent time with the Miami Heat. Names like Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Shaquille O’Neal, Alonzo Mourning and Tim Hardaway are just a few names that come to mind.
But none of them accomplished what former Michigan star Duncan Robinson did this season — at least not while wearing a Heat jersey.
Robinson made history on Friday night, setting the franchise’s single-season record for most three-pointers made. In Miami’s 110-104 loss to New Orleans, Robinson buried eight shots from three-point range to bring his total to 233 for the year. That is a single-season record for the Heat.

And yes, three-point specialists Ray Allen and Mike Miller have also spent time wearing the Heat uniform. So it’s a pretty incredible accomplishment.
Robinson’s total is also the best single-season mark for an undrafted player in NBA history.
While Robinson had a long road to get to the NBA, his hard work has certainly paid off. Now, he’s in the Miami Heat record books, where he could see his name for quite a few years. With 19 games still left on the schedule, that number is only going to increase.
