Michigan losses another young talented defensive playmaker as Deuce Spurlock commits to enroll at the University of Florida to play for the Gators. Spurlock announced his decision to play for the SEC program on his Twitter on Sunday.

Spurlock played in 2 games this 2022 season where he accounted for 3 total tackles and a solo tackle.

Spurlock originally signed with Michigan as a 3-star prospect from Madison, Alabama in the 2022 recruiting class. He was the 91st-rated linebacker and the 41st-rated prospect from the state of Alabama, according to 247Sports Composite.

Spurlock had 27 offers to play football at the collegiate level including Auburn, Boston College, Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, and Washington State. Michigan was the only B1G school to give him an offer during the 2022 recruiting process.

Spurlock is the 5th player, 3rd from a B1G school, to transfer to play for Florida in 2023. Former Ohio State linebacker Teredja Mitchell and Wisconsin quarterback Graham Mertz are the other B1G players to commit to Florida from the NCAA Transfer Portal.
