Former Michigan offensive lineman Greg Froelich is moving up the collegiate coaching ranks. After time as an analyst for 2 B1G schools, he gets his first coaching job as Charlotte’s running back coach and special teams coordinator.

His previous jobs include special teams and running backs analyst at his alma mater from 2017-20 and has been at Illinois since as a special teams analyst. He now joins Biff Poggi, a former Michigan associate coach, in his first year with the 49ers.

“I am unbelievably excited to join this incredible staff Coach Poggi has put together,” Froelich said, via the below statement. “We are going to do special things here at Charlotte. This city and this university are ready for a dominant college football team and we intend to show the American all about the 49ers!”

During his time as an analyst, Froelich helped produce one of the best special teams units at each of his stops. Now he will put his time as an analyst to the test at Charlotte.
