The Los Angeles Chargers are signing Michigan product Michael Schofield III heading into the Week 2 contest vs. the visiting Dallas Cowboys.

Schofield is a guard/tackle who previously played for the Chargers from 2017-2019. Schofield made 49 appearances and 39 starts for the Chargers in that span.

He was originally selected by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Schofield was the Broncos’ right tackle for their Super 50 championship.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound Schofield earned 2013 All-B1G honorable mention recognition from the coaches. Schofield arrived at Michigan as a 4-star prospect by Scout and Rivals.

Schofield has also played for the Carolina Panthers and Baltimore Ravens during his NFL career.

Chargers-Cowboys will be on Sept. 19 (4:25 p.m. EST) and will be televised on CBS.

Michigan is off to a 2-0 record after victories vs. Western Michigan and Washington. Michigan will host Northern Illinois in Week 3 of the college football season. That kickoff is slated for Sept. 18 (noon EST) and will be televised on the BTN.
