Goff threw a deep pass into double-coverage as Metellus took advantage of the poor decision of the Lions’ quarterback. Metellus finished the game accounting for 11 total tackles, 10 solo tackles, two pass deflections, and the game-sealing interception.
This was Metellus’ first professional career start as he got the start for Minnesota over Lewis Cine. Metellus was drafted in the sixth round (205th overall pick) in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Michigan.
In his senior season at Michigan in 2019, Metellus accounted for 74 total tackles, 41 solo tackles, 4 tackles for loss and 5 pass breakups.
