Mike Mallory is reportedly coming home. According to multiple outlets, the former Michigan linebacker is joining Jim Harbaugh’s staff.

Doug Samuels of FootballScoop reports that Mallory will be an analyst working with special teams. Mallory coached special teams with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints, Jacksonville Jaguars and Denver Broncos from 2008-to-2022.

Mallory played linebacker for the Wolverines from 1982-to-1985. He earned All-Big Ten recognition in his final 2 seasons with the Wolverines, posting 211 career tackles.

After his playing days, Mallory got into coaching. He started in 1986 as a graduate assistant at Indiana. He was an on-field coach in the college ranks from 1988-to-2007 before making the jump to the NFL.

Doug Mallory, Mike’s brother, is currently on the Michigan staff as a defensive analyst, a position he has held since 2021.
