Former Michigan wide receiver Tarik Black has carved out a starting role with his new team.
Monday, the Longhorns released their depth chart for the season opener against UTEP on Saturday, Sept. 12. Penned in as one of the starting wide receivers was Black, who decided to transfer to Texas following the 2019 season at Michigan.
Black was immediately eligible with the Longhorns.
Last season at Michigan, Black totaled 25 catches for 323 yards and a touchdown while appearing in 12 games for the Wolverines. It was the first full season he was able to play in Ann Arbor, battling foot injuries for most of his career.
During three seasons at Michigan, Black appeared in 21 career games and hauled in 40 passes for 508 yards and two touchdowns. He was often considered to be one of the top deep threats on Michigan’s roster when healthy.
Now, with a new team, Black will look to make an immediate impact on the field. He’s already off to a strong start with the Longhorns by earning the starting job.
