Michigan’s 48-42 victory over Rutgers was one of the most dramatic games of the season. The Wolverines prevailed in triple overtime thanks to a thrilling comeback led by Cade McNamara. Rutgers also missed a field goal in OT that would have won the game.
McNamara threw four touchdown passes in relief of starter Joe Milton. Hassan Haskins was also excellent, rushing the ball 23 times for 111 yards and a score.
Michigan State’s 29-20 win over Northwestern was one of the biggest upsets of the entire college football season. The Wildcats were working on a perfect season when they met the Spartans in late November. Northwestern’s offense stalled and quarterback Peyton Ramsey threw two interceptions in the loss — tied for his single-game high this season.
