One of the biggest matchups this postseason outside of the College Football Playoff and New Year’s Six is the Citrus Bowl showdown between No. 13 Alabama and No. 14 Michigan.

Before the 2019 season, an Alabama-Michigan clash would’ve been expected to be a College Football Playoff matchup. But following a 10-2 year for the Crimson Tide and a 9-3 campaign from the Wolverines, the two teams will meet in Orlando.

Even though the game isn’t part of the New Year’s Six, it’s still a highly-anticipated contest, one the analysts on FOX are looking forward to, as well.

Urban Meyer, Joel Klatt and Matt Leinart debated about which team the Citrus Bowl was more important for this season. Does Alabama need some sort of vindication from a disappointing season? Or does Jim Harbaugh need to prove he can beat one of the big boys?

The three analysts debated that topic.

Meyer and Klatt agreed that the game was more important for Alabama, citing the fact that the Crimson Tide are outside the top 10 and need to finish on a high note. Leinart suggested Michigan needs the victory to gain some momentum heading into the 2020 season.

Below is the video of the three analysts debating which team needs that Citrus Bowl victory more come New Year’s Day.
