FOX runs awesome feature on history, tradition of Michigan's 'Go Blue' banner
One of the most recognizable traditions in college football is Michigan’s “Go Blue” banner. Before every home game at the Big House, the Wolverines run onto the field and hit the banner for good luck.
It’s one of the more unique traditions in the B1G. And though it seems like a pretty simplistic idea, it was developed in an interesting fashion.
With the FOX Big Noon Game crew in Ann Arbor for Saturday’s showdown against Northwestern, the network ran a special feature on the tradition. Head coach Jim Harbaugh and several current players talked about the importance of touching the banner before every home game.
Below is the feature FOX ran Saturday morning:

It’s always interesting to hear how traditions are formed. More intriguing yet is how players and coaches feel about those traditions.
Michigan will be hitting the “Go Blue” banner before 12 p.m. ET Saturday in an effort to get a win over Northwestern. The Wolverines enter the contest with a perfect 6-0 record.
