Week 1 wasn’t a fantastic one for Michigan.
The No. 14 Wolverines faced No. 12 Notre Dame on the road Saturday night and neither the offense or defense looked special. Shea Patterson was supposed to be the savior of Michigan and take its offense to new heights.
That didn’t look to be the case.
Patterson finished going 20-of-30 for 227 yards and 1 INT. He didn’t have his best outing.
The day after football games is when people like to analyze games the most. It’s easy to say one thing after a team looks spectacular or terrible.
FOX Sports’ Joel Klatt owned the fact that he was wrong about Michigan, but gave the Wolverines some harsh words in the process on Twitter:
Love to finally see some game action…I was dead wrong about Texas and Michigan…I thought both teams would be better than last year and they are not…making the exact same mistakes on the field and coaching.

Perhaps Michigan didn’t look as good as many anticipated heading into the new season. But, playing on the road at the No. 12 team in the country could have played a part in that.
After all, Notre Dame won the game 24-17 and Michigan won the second half — albeit a low scoring one — 7-3.
The Wolverines will be back in action Week 2 against Western Michigan for a noon kickoff on Sept. 8 at home. The game will be televised on FS1.
