The NBA is in full swing, and there have been many former B1G stars playing well for their respective teams. Franz Wagner is the latest player to perform at a high level for his NBA team.

The former Michigan standout was drafted No. 8 overall by the Orlando Magic in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Wagner had a great stat line Tuesday night with 38 points on 12-of-20 shooting. He was 4-of-8 from the 3-point line with 7 rebounds and 3 assists. This is the most points by a rookie in the NBA so far this season.

Wagner also joined an elite list of Orlando rookies that includes Shaquille O’Neal and Dennis Scott:

His brother Mo Wagner is also on the team. He had previously been with the Los Angeles Lakers, Washington Wizards and the Boston Celtics. Mo was the 25th overall pick in the 1st round of the 2018 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers.

This season, the Orlando Magic are 7-28 on this season and are 15th in the Eastern Conference. Although the Magic are still rebuilding, they may have something special in rookie Franz Wagner.
