A freshman linebacker at Michigan has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

247Sports reported that former 4-star linebacker Osman Savage, who was a member of Michigan’s 2020 class, is entering the NCAA transfer portal. He has decided to reconsider his options after just a short time with the Wolverines.

Savage was ranked as the No. 300 overall prospect in the 2020 recruiting class. The native of Baltimore, Maryland was listed as the No. 14 player from his home state and the No. 18 outside linebacker of the cycle.

From 247Sports recruiting analyst Brian Dohn:

Strong, powerful frame. Concern about being close to physically maxed out. Outside linebacker with inside linebacker mentality. Explosive and runs well. Has extremely high motor. Is fearless in filling run gaps. Sure tackler. Plays physical and fast. Changes direction well. Sifts through traffic to find ball carrier. Diagnoses plays well. Good run blitzer.

Savage initially committed to Michigan over offers from Maryland, Michigan State, Pitt, Syracuse, Tennessee and West Virginia.
