Greg McElroy downplayed the potential impact of Jim Harbaugh’s reported 4-game suspension on Tuesday afternoon.

In an episode of Always College Football, McElroy broke down Michigan’s schedule to open the season: East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green and Rutgers. All 4 of those games will be played in Ann Arbor.

“None of the games are losable,” he said. “You have East Carolina, UNLV and Bowling Green, all 3 of which should be comfortable wins for the Wolverines. Then you bring in a 4-8 Rutgers team from a year ago to kick off the Big Ten schedule.

“Ultimately, this 4-game suspension will not have any impact whatsoever on the Michigan Wolverines. Is it appropriate? I don’t know. I don’t know what he said or what he didn’t say. All I know is the NCAA believes he was lying. Jim Harbaugh has dug in. Now they’re trying to negotiate a truce on the matter.”

McElroy did note that the result of this investigation could have an impact on offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore and tight ends coach Grant Newsome, as both have reportedly been implicated.

Harbaugh’s possible suspension stems from a NCAA investigation into Michigan’s football program. Harbaugh allegedly misled investigators who were looking into the matter, although he has reportedly denied doing so intentionally.
