Jim Harbaugh has done some odd things since taking over at Michigan.

He’s played pickup football with his shirt off, he’s taken weird selfies in foreign countries and he’s done countless other things that can only be summed up as Harbaugh-isms.

On Tuesday night, he added another odd notch to his belt.

In the spirit of the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry, Harbaugh spoke to UM fans at the site of Bo Schembechler’s grave. And what did he do at the legendary coach’s headstone?

He smashed a buckeye with a maize hammer, of course.

Harbaugh went to the graves of Schembechler, legendary Michigan broadcaster Bob Ufer and former Michigan coach Fielding H. Yost. It’s been a Michigan tradition since 1997, which ends with the singing of the alma mater.

Now it’s up to Urban Meyer to find himself a Wolverine to smash.
